ABOUT ME
Hi, I’m Kate! I’m a Brighton-based designer and illustrator with over 10 years of experience creating for children’s publishing, packaging, and brands. I handle the whole creative process, taking projects from a rough idea all the way to print-ready artwork. My design background means I keep a sharp eye on typography and layout, while my illustration side focuses on storytelling and character.
I grew up in Hong Kong and spent a lot of my childhood travelling. With biologists for parents, I was surrounded by a love of wildlife and the natural world from an early age, and it’s something that has stayed with me ever since. I love creating accurate yet engaging wildlife illustrations, as well as imaginative worlds filled with dinosaurs, pirates, and fairies.
My career path has taken a wonderfully varied route. I started out in product gifting, worked in creative agencies and publishing houses, managed design teams, and at one point, even worked on inflatable buildings. All of that unique experience eventually led me to go freelance in 2019, where I now balance creative ideas with practical production.
